Well - the iPod is going mobile.  Introducing Miuro - a new robot from Japan that turns an iPod into a dancing rolling robot boom-box that from preliminary information - appears to follow you from room to room. A product of ZPN and Kenwood, the Miuro looks like a white egg (or red, or black, or yellow) that's split open with a white ball in the middle where you insert your iPod. It has Kenwood speakers, a blue Miuro display and a remote control.

Most of the information about this boombox robot is in Japanese - so details are a bit sketch here in the USA.  The word is that this innovative product could make it to the United States during the second half of 2007.  It appears that there are a few accessories such as an on-board camera, as well as motion sensors which you can add to it.  There also appears to be a wireless link to a PC for downloading music and for controlling the robot

The projected price for the Miuro is $930 USD (translates to 108,800 yen) - which is pricy but will no doubt be picked up en masse by the early adoptors of tech gadgets.  When you consider that this boombox robot includes very high-end Kenwood speakers, is mobile, has a robot brain, and is controllable - the price looks a bit more palatable.
